What the Customers Say
Dear George,
Thank you for organising a great trip! We had an absolutely amazing time at the shoot ! The White Horse was exactly what we were hoping for and they even had a live band playing when we arrived on Friday. Bob and the guys were fantastic and I was surprised by the amount of birds we had to shoot at. It was such a good experience and I really enjoyed the more challenging aspects of rough shooting.
Kind regards

Just a quick note to say a huge thanks for Saturday, I thoroughly enjoyed it despite being a little slow in the morning. Couldn't have wished for a better day.
Bob
Just a quick email to thank you for an excellent day of pigeon shooting.
Whoever says that you cannot have a good day of pigeon shooting in the winter can reconsider. With Bob's expertise we had a 60 bird day in January! and could have shot more!
Bob is a true credit to shooting with is knowledge and understanding. Customer service was excellent with Bob calling us regularly to make sure everything was going well.
A man truly devoted to his business.

Dear Bob
JBig thanks for a brilliant day's shooting on Saturday. I 'll be feasting on pigeon meatloaf for the next few days.
I hope to return in September for another day's pigeoning.
Further, we discussed your walked up days during the winter, to reiterate, I would be interested but am likely to come as a single gun to join another of your groups.
Kinds regards
A Day with Bob and Fanny - July 2005
Birds were thin on the ground on my local patch and with the prospect of a day off I thought i'd ring Bob a week in advanced to see if there was a chance of some pigeon shooting. At the time I called weather conditions were very poor for shooting pigeons, it was hot and dry with very little wind so I wasn't very optimistic. Fortunately, Bob called me the day before we had planned to shoot and said he'd found some birds feeding on some laid barley and it could well be worth shooting. This had coincided with a change of weather, there was patchy cloud cover and importantly a stiff easterly wind to keep the birds on the move.
We arranged to meet at 9.30am. I loaded the car with gear and set off on the short journey over to Whissonsett. After a quick cuppa I followed Bob down to the shoot, he'd had been out earlier and had set everything up. The hide was under a beautiful old oak tree and offered some shade from the sun. There was a whirly to my right, about eight dead birds on bouncers above the barley and a few birds placed around the laid areas. It was a beautiful spot and it looked really promising, Bob left me to get on with things and we agreed to keep in touch by mobile. I got comfortable in the hide, loaded the Beretta Teknys with three Hull Cartridges 32g 6 shot Pigeons Specials and waited. I had a lovely view of open countryside and watched the pigeons flighting over the field, interestingly there did not appear to be much of a pattern to the direction they were flying in but clearly the wind was keeping them on the move. From Bob's reconnaissance the previous day there had been a lot of birds in this part of the field. After about 20 minutes I had my first customer, a bird flying along a nearby hedgerow had noticed the whirly and was heading straight in. Pleasingly I dropped him first shot, the noise put up several birds in the distance one which looped back and I got him straight out in front of the hide, a nice start. For the next hour or so there was a steady trickle of birds coming over but they weren't pitching into the decoys and I wondered if i'd missed an earlier feeding spell or they might want to eat later in the day. I bagged a fast flying pair that quarterly downwind, very satisfying, I then missed an absolute sitter that was virtually stationary hanging in the wind, oh well back to the practice ground.
After the first couple of hours things started to slacken off, the chance in weather had clearly altered the bird's routine. I called Bob he'd been out on another recce and thought he had found another likely spot to try. I'd shot 14 birds which was a good start, Fanny, Bob's Black Labrador bitch relished the opportunity to pick up and show off her retrieving skills, at only 9 months old she is destined for stardom. We soon packed the gear away and were quickly set up and at 'em again a few miles further up the road. Bob had been watching a flightline develop over a field of wheat, there were telephone wires running down the field and the pigeons had been using them as a resting place, they were congregating here and at least a hundred or so birds flew off when we arrived. We talked through the best position for the hide and agreed on the left hand corner of the field where there was high ground and a small area of laid wheat. Our set up was pretty much the same although the whirly was more central to the pattern. The decoys were rocking appealingly in the wind and it only took 5 minutes after Bob left for the first visitors to arrive. I shot 7 birds in consecutive shots (unusual for me) and the birds were pitching in very nicely. The great thing was birds were coming in singles and pairs most of the time rather than large numbers. I killed birds steadily through to half past seven when we packed in. The final score was 31 giving a satisfying total of 45 for the day. The quality of bird throughout the day was excellent which often happens when there is a strong wind. I had a thoroughly enjoyable day, expertly guided by Bob and I would unreservedly recommend his services. Nothing was too much trouble I was made to feel very welcome and I'm already looking forward to the next day. Cheers Bob

Hi Bob
Just thought that I would drop you a quick note to thank-you for a great day yesterday both Danny and myself really enjoyed it. The weather was against but i think that 32 birds was a good days shooting given the conditions. I hope that we didn't leave to much mess behind for you and that some of the birds were OK, next time I think we will need a game protector to protect the birds from the heat.
Please let me know if you have any days availability over the coming months as we would defiantly like to come back, For Pigeon shooting, Duck flights or even a game Day.
Once again thanks for a great day
Your Sincerely
Bob
